THE BEST Fruit Dip on the Planet
Hey Mamas (and Papas). First things first… I’m NOT a food blogger. I don’t want to be a food blogger. There are a ton of people who do an amazing job cooking and writing about food, generally their own creations.
I’m not one of them.
I love to cook. I love to eat. I LOVE finding tasty, healthy recipes on Pinterest. I also love sharing awesome-ness with y’all. So forgive my photos and trust me when I tell you that if I’m sharing it, it’s because it is AWESOME, HEALTHY and EASY (usually).
I have a small sweet tooth. Truly. I can usually go along without anything sweet, but occasionally, I want a treat. I began making this dip for a party, then my husband requested I make it when a few friends came over, then they requested it the next time they came over, then I made it for us one night for dinner. It’s a heck of a good recipe, and I haven’t found anyone yet who doesn’t fall over themselves trying to get more.
As far as health goes, you’re getting a small amount of healthy fat from the peanut butter, a bunch of protein from the greek yogurt (and the pb), and cinnamon may have antioxidant effects and could even lower your blood sugar (research is inconclusive). Bonus: if you don’t LOVE plain fruit, here’s a way to make those apple slices disappear in a flash!
It’s ridiculously easy, and you can fine tune it to your preferences. I took out the maple syrup and replaced it with honey, then I removed the honey when I was pregnant and subbed it with vanilla and liked it so much I left it that way (thank you, fewer calories).
Try it with any kind of fruit you like, or if you’re making it for people who don’t eat fruit, just eat it by the spoonful. 😉
I adapted the recipe from Fitsugar.com. Find their recipe here.
