Fab Find Friday- My running wardrobe
Hey Mamas (and Papas),
I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted a Fab Find Friday, but honestly, Ive been laying low on the shopping scene, and don’t have a lot of new goodies to share with you. I am against promoting something I don’t have, or have at least used, because it might not be as awesome as described, so I’ve just had to wait. I was looking through some of my pictures from September, though, and realized I had a head-to-toe running outfit that I hadn’t shared with you. Yikes! I know many of you run, so I thought I’d share some of my fave gear for running, as tried and tested during the Rock-n-Roll Virginia Beach Half Marathon I ran on Labor Day weekend (and PR’d by 26 minutes!!!).
From the top:
NIKE WOMENS DRI-FIT FEATHERLIGHT RUNNING CAP Cool and Lightweight-Perfect For Your Run! (Dark Pink) does an amazing job of keep the sweat off my face, without being bulky or uncomfortable (and I’ve got a big melon, so hats are hard to find).
Jaybird Freedom Sprint Bluetooth Headphones - Retail Packaging - Midnight Black. These guys work through even my long (read: sweaty) runs without giving out on me. Good sound quality, and charge with a motorola charger (doesn’t everyone have a million of those lying around?). Love these guys!
Bra and shorts I’ve had forever, they aren’t sold anywhere anymore (sorry 🙁 )
KT TAPE Original Cotton Elastic Kinesiology Theraeputic Tape - 20 Pre-Cut 10" Strips, Blue SAVED my knees (and ankles) from the repetitive pounding on the pavement. I highly recommend asking your doc if KT tape can Help you if you have any joint/ligament/muscle pain from running or any repetitive motion sport.
Cep Women Progressive+ Run Socks 2.0 Flash orange-Black Size 3. These bad boys are harder to put on than my tightest pantyhose, but they certainly do the trick of keeping my lower legs in good shape, maintaining bloodflow and discouraging the post-run blood pooling that can e dangerous after long runs. They’re a b**** to put on and take off, but well worth it!
NEWTON Distance III Ladies Running Shoe. I love these guys. They are super lightweight, support a mid-sole strike (minimalist running style that is easier on joints and shins), but have enough cushioning (especially in the mid-sole) to ease the impact for those of us who are getting a little older and worse for the wear. These guys have saved my life (and my legs) for longer than 8 miles runs where my minimalist shoes just don’t provide enough cushion.
There’s my breakdown of running gear. Hopefully you find something that will meet your needs here. Trial and error is a big part of finding what works for you when it comes to running, or any sport, really, but this is a list of the things that are working for me. I hope this gives you a place to start!
p.s. I’ve learned that Amazon will give a *small* portion of sales generated from my referrals (by clicking on the link above to the product) back to this CrazyFitMama. I shop Amazon.com all-the-time, and have never had anything but great service from them. All the recommendations are ones I’d make anyway, I promise you that. They don’t even recommend things for me to share with you, it’s just that they sell e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g! (well, almost everything. Why don’t you sell more Nike gear, Amazon?) It doesn’t affect your purchase price, but it does help me buy new workout gear? Cool? Cool!
