Movie Night: STAR WARS
Have you ever been torn between workout out and family time? I sure have. Sometimes it’s going to the beach instead of going for a run (just run and play at the beach… and SWIM!).
Sometimes it’s date night instead of doing my evening yoga (stretching comes in many forms… I’m just saying’).
Sometimes it’s watching a video as a family instead of doing my regular workout video. That’s when movie workouts come into play.
They’re kind of like drinking games, except that instead of taking a drink every time Ben Stein says “Bueller” in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, you do five pushups. Or every time Farm Boy in the Princess Bride says “As you wish”, you complete 10 squats.
Anyway… it’s officially time for our sweet daughter to watch Start Wars for the first time.
We’re studying space, and she LOVES rockets and flying and stars and moons and planets.
So, to make it more interesting for me… and to help me avoid the guilt of being sedentary for over 2 hours, I’ve put together a Workout game for Star Wars.
In my opinion, this can make even the longest movie, or the one that is just a little too corny to be taken seriously, a LOT more fun. You might get your whole family in on the fun, or you might not.
Just remember, if they don’t play along, you can just ride high on the satisfaction of knowing you’re getting healthier, even while spending quality time with la familia.
